About Us

 
The Association for New Canadians is a non-profit, community based organization dedicated to the provision of settlement and integration services for immigrants and refugees. For over 30 years, the Association has provided settlement assistance and various other programs and services to support all aspects of newcomer integration.
Established in 1995, as a division of the Association for New Canadians, AXIS (Acquiring Experience; Integrating Skills) Career Services has provided a wide range of employment assistance programs and services to internationally educated workers living in Newfoundland and Labrador. AXIS clients are pre-screened to ensure they have met all eligibility requirements and are job-ready in advance of meeting with potential employers.
With ongoing support from employers, AXIS takes a leading edge approach in developing innovative services for newcomers to accelerate their inclusion and integration to the labour market and obtain meaningful long-term employment.
Goals of ANC/AXIS Programming:
